a kick in the pants....

was feeling really stressed out this morning, thought about this blog, and it made me even more stressed out---why can't i force myself to spend 10-15 minutes a day just allowing myself to create??? i think it would really bring my stress level down and make me so much happier. i'm going to use this month's gpp challenge to put together a little something for myself to take with me places, so i can give myself options as to when and where i can create, and not lose that part of me. and i really need to hold myself to it, as much as i hold myself to getting things done for work or for grad school!

one little word

i recently came across a simple, but really powerful, concept presented by Ali Edwards. I have decided to take on this challenge for 2008 and have been thinking about what word I want to use for the next year. After much consideration (you all know how hard it is for me to make decisions!), i've decided on the word:

PRIORITIZE

i want to make better use of my time, and live a more fulfilling life. in order to do this, i need to PRIORITIZE the hundred tasks that are always waiting to be done. i need to make better decisions about what needs to get done and what i need to let go of. i need to prioritize what i need to do for myself, what i need to do for others, and what i need to say no to.

i hope that focusing on this word in 2008 will help lead me to living a more content, less overwhelming life.

i find inspiration can come from anywhere at any moment. the curve on a water glass, the way a leaf falls from a tree. i usually have a small camera on me to take a picture and remind me later, and i really should try carrying a small blank journal around. some recent inspiration...
